Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women's basketball team trailed by 13 points after the first half and couldn't make it up in the second half as they fell to No. 9 Wayne State 81-69 at Romano Gymnasium on Saturday.
Katrina Newman paced the Bulldogs with 23 points, eight rebounds, and nine steals while Danielle Flood added 18 points. Jessica Newman finished with 8 points, and Taylor Meyer racked up seven points.
The Bulldogs forced 21 turnovers and shot just 32 percent from the floor while the Wildcats were 25-of-40 for 62.5 percent.
UMD (10-10) will hit the road next weekend to take on No. 23 Northern State on Friday, Feb. 7.
