Newman's 24 Leads UMD Past Minot State

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Katrina Newman was the only player to score in double digits for the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's basketball team on Friday, but her 24 points led the Bulldogs to a 62-49 win over Minot State.

Newman, a native of Barnum, Minn., added six rebounds and four steals in the winning effort for UMD. Taylor Meyer led the Bulldogs on the boards, finishing with 14 rebounds to go along with eight points.

UMD is now (7-3) this 2012-13 season and will next be in action Jan. 5 at 4:00 p.m. against the University of Mary at Romano Gymnasium.
