Northland's NewsCenter extends partnership with UMD Athletics

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- The Northland's NewsCenter will be broadcsating the 2012-2013 Univeristy of Minnesota Duluth Football and Hockey seasons to the My 9 Sports Network.

The televising will kick off September 8th with the Bulldogs hosting Winona State live from Malosky Stadium.

The football season will include match-ups against Augustana, MN State Moorhead, Bemidji State, University of Mary and Northern State.

UMD football broadcasts will be produced in cooperation with the iFan Sports Network.

The 2012-13 broadcast season of UMD Bulldog hockey will begin on October 12th when they host Ohio State in a two-game series at Amsoil Arena.

Season opponents include, Wisconsin, St. Cloud State, Bemidji State, Michigan Tech, Alabama-Huntsville, Denver, MN State Mankato, US Under - 18 National and Nebrask-Omaha.

The My 9 Sports Network has a slate of 19 home games planned with additional away games pending.

The UMD Women’s Hockey team will take on North Dakota for a two-game series starting on February 22, 2013.

The play-by-play action is called by Northland's NewsCenter Sports Director Tom Hansen.

Joining Tom in the broadcast booth is former Bulldog Judd Medak with color commentary.

Judd played right wing for the Bulldogs from 1998-2002 before playing in the AHL.
