Kansas City, MO (NNCNOW.com) --- The #5-seeded Wisconsin men's basketball team was ousted in the second round of the NCAA Division I tournament on Friday afternoon, with #12-seeded Ole Miss beating the Badgers 57-46 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
Sam Dekker was the lone Wisconsin player to score in double digits, finishing with 14 points in the losing effort. Both Jared Berggren and Traevon Jackson added eight points for the Badgers.
The loss snapped a streak of six straight first-game wins for Wisconsin in the NCAAs, with the win for Ole Miss marking that program's first in the tournament since 2001.
It was an earlier exit than most expected for the Badgers, less than a week after the team reached the championship game in the Big Ten tournament.
Wisconsin ends the season with an overall record of (23-12).
