Pretty in Pink, Bulldogs Sweep Huskies

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The UMD women's hockey team earned its first home sweep of the season Saturday night, beating St. Cloud State 10-2 at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth.

The #9-ranked Bulldogs used a hat trick from Jenna McParland and two goals from Audrey Cournoyer to propel themselves to the home sweep, improving their conference record to (5-6-1-1).

UMD wore pink jerseys during the game that will be put up for auction, the money raised going to help support the fight against breast cancer. All proceeds with be donated to Essentia Health's Breast Cancer Fund.

Hermantown native and St. Cloud State sophomore Julia Gilbert also scored in the game, marking her first goal of the season and seventh of her career.

The Bulldogs will head to Grand Forks, ND next Saturday and Sunday for another pair of WCHA engagements.
