Remembering #33: John Baggs Memorial Golf Tourney

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The memory of legendary St. Scholastica baseball coach John Baggs was honored Saturday at Enger Park Golf Course in Duluth with the playing of the 4th annual John Baggs Memorial Golf Tournament.

Baggs was the head coach of St. Scholastica baseball for 18 years, best known for wearing #33 and always saying that the Saints' program was more like a family than a team.

29 teams and more than 125 golfers were participating in the event, helping to raise a record $30,000 for the John Baggs Scholarship Fund.

Baggs remains the winningest coach in St. Scholastica baseball history, having accumulated a record of (567-204-3).
