Spokane, WA (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's cross country team used an All-American performance from freshman Samantha Rivard on their way to placing 10th as a team as the NCAA DII Championships.
Rivard led the Bulldogs and finished in 8th place overall with a time of 21:17.8 in the 6K race to earn All-American honors. She's the program's first All-American since 2009.
UMD finished with a team score of 277 points, five points behind ninth-place Mansfield University.
Sophomore Hannah Olson was second for the Bulldogs and finished 67th overall followed by Allie Rudin in 80th and freshman Breanna Colbenson in 90th.
