Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica softball team has won 11 of the past 14 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) tournament titles, meaning that playoff time usually means the rest of the conference is taking aim squarely at the Saints in hopes of knocking them out.
That, however, is more a source of pride than it is a headache for head coach Jen Walter.
"I'd rather be chased than have to chase," Walter said. "It's always additional pressure when every team is looking at you to beat you. I think that's what makes us a better team, and that's a good position to be in."
The Saints are the No. 1 seed in this year's UMAC tournament and will open the double-elimination format against No. 4 seed Northland, with that game set for a 12:00 p.m. start at Kenwood Field in Duluth, Minn.
