Mount Vernon, IA (NNCNOW.com) --- Danica Schellbach scored a team-high 19 points on Friday night, but she and the St. Scholastica women's basketball team fell 76-54 to Cornell (Iowa) in the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament.
Mariah Hovick was the only other Saints player in double digits, finishing with 17 points in the losing effort.
The game marked a first-ever NCAA tournament appearance for St. Scholastica, which earned an automatic bid after winning the 2013 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) tournament.
The Saints end the season with an overall record of (13-15).
