Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica football team struggled to stop the Bethel University offense as the Royals routed the Saints 70-13 on Saturday in the opening round of the NCAA Division III playoffs at the H.H.H. Metrodome.

The undefeated Royals out-gained the Saints 147-20 in the first quarter alone and jumped out to a 22-0 lead. CSS got on the board in the second thanks to a 41-yard pass from Tyler Harper to Cory Gebhard. Bethel led 43-13 at halftime.

The second half was more of the same for the Royals who scored on their first four possessions.

Harper finished 13-of-24 for 131 and two touchdowns along with two interceptions. Jake Jensen rushed for 37 yards, just three yards shy of 3,000 for his career.

St. Scholastica finishes the season (9-2).
