Saints Football Picked to Win 2013 UMAC

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica football team is expected to win the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) in the 2013 season, that according to the preseason coaches' poll released on Thursday.

The Saints received five first-place votes in the poll, with Greenville getting three and Northwestern two from the conference coaches.

St. Scholastica went (7-1) in the UMAC last season and qualified for the program's second straight NCAA Division III tournament, with the team returning 13 starters from that squad in 2012.

The Saints open the 2013 season on the road on Sept. 7 against Whitworth, with the team's home and conference opener coming a week later against Iowa Wesleyan.
