CSS' French, Lambach Earn UMAC POY Honors

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- St. Scholastica seniors Alec French and Chris Lambach were named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Defensive and Lineman of the Year as the all-conference teams were named on Tuesday.

French was named the UMAC Defensive Player of the Year after leading the Saints with 102 tackles. He also led the UMAC with two fumble recoveries and recorded three interceptions. The Isanti, Minn. native was all named to the First Team All-UMAC for the second straight season.

Lambach, who was crowned the UMAC Lineman of the Year, was part of an offensive line that only gave up nine sacks all season. As the first Saint to win the award, he started all 10 games this year and 35 in his career.

Seven other Saints joined French and Lambach on the All-UMAC First Team. Cory Gebhard, Jake Jensen, Pete Stanley, Mike Theismann, Blake Cedarleaf, Keaton Rush, and Mike LaValley also earned the honor.
