Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The St. Scholastica softball team found out Monday it was headed to Pella, Iowa for the 2012 NCAA regional tournament.
The Saints earned an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament by winning the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) postseason title, and the team will face top-seeded Luther in a first-round game on Friday.
St. Scholastica is making its second consecutive and third overall appearance in the NCAA tournament, boasting a (32-10) overall record this season.
The Saints' first-round game against Luther is set for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, with second-round games yet to be determined in the double-elimination format.
