Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The St. Scholastica men's and women's soccer teams each won the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) postseason championship on Saturday, with each coming in a 1-0 win over Minnesota-Morris.
The men used a second half goal from Erik Trochimchuk and seven saves from goalkeeper Adam Hewitt to earn the win, advancing to the program's second-ever NCAA Division III tournament.
The women, meanwhile, needed two huge saves from goalkeeper Kelsey Reeves to stay alive in overtime of their game, with Andrea Beatt netting the game-winner just minutes later.
Reeves made her only two saves of the game from close range, and Beatt then scored from 25 yards out to send the Saints to a fifth NCAA Division III tournament in the past six seasons.
Both teams will find out when and where they will play a first-round matchup on Monday when the NCAA officially announces the tournament draw.
