Saints Picked Second in Preseason UMAC Poll

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The St. Scholastica football team has been picked to finish second in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) preseason coaches' poll, it was announced on Monday.

The Saints received three first-place votes but finished just behind Greenville in the polling, that after the team posted a (10-0) record in the regular season a year ago.

The team graduated seven senior starters from last year's squad, including the 2011 UMAC offensive player of the year in quarterback Alex Thiry and 2011 UMAC defensive player of year in Superior native Sean Graskey.

Below are the results of the full UMAC preseason coaches' poll, with the teams' respective first-place votes in parentheses.
