Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- St. Scholastica qualified one man and three women over the weekend in the NCAA Division III outdoor track and field championships, it was announced on Sunday.
Senior Tom Lysico becomes the first-ever St. Scholastica male to qualify for the outdoor championships, and he will compete in the hammer throw.
Senior Alec Seeley will also compete in the hammer throw on the women's side, having already placed 10th in that event during the Division III NCAA indoor track and field championships this year.
Seeley will be joined in the women's hammer throw by St. Scholastica sophomore Becky Huberty, who was right on the cut line of qualifying for the NCAA championships.
The final Saints representative will be sophomore Tracy Perish, who will be competing in the heptathlon.
The national meet begins on Thursday in Claremont, CA and runs through the weekend. Perish will open competition on Thursday, while the throwers will wait until Friday for preliminary competition.
