Cedar Rapids, IA (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica softball team was shut out on Friday afternoon in the opening game of the 2014 NCAA Division III tournament, falling 3-0 to Coe College in the double-elimination regional being played in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Saints starting pitcher Chrisi Mizera finished six full innings, allowing the three runs on seven hits while striking out four hitters.

St. Scholastica only had two hits in the game, those coming from Duluth, Minn. native Kara Warren and Ashland, Wis. native Tiff Hudack, and couldn't get a runner past second base in the losing effort.

The loss ends a program-record 21-game winning streak for the Saints, who will now face St. Thomas at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in an elimination game.
