Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- St. Scholastica senior quarterback Alex Thiry was not named Tuesday as one of the top four finalists for the 2011 Gagliardi Trophy.

He was one of the top 10 in line for what is commonly referred to as the "Division III Heisman Trophy."

Thiry helped lead St. Scholastica to its first undefeated regular season and first NCAA tournament appearance this season, throwing 37 touchdowns and only three interceptions.

The Cambridge native ended the season as one of the top rated passers in the nation at Division III.

Four St. Scholastica football players were named Monday to the D3football.com All-West Region third team, including Superior native Sean Graskey.

Graskey, a senior linebacker for the Saints, led the team in tackles this year for the third straight season. He is part of the first four-year senior class for the St. Scholastica football program.

Joining Graskey on the All-West Region third team are Saints senior quarterback Alex Thiry, junior defensive end Christopher Doran, and junior defensive tackle Zack Dubanoski.
