Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- For the 16th consecutive time, the St. Scholastica baseball team won the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament, beating Northwestern College 12-8 Saturday afternoon at Wade Stadium.

The Saints were down a run early but used a ten-run second inning to take a 10-1 lead. Andy Schwantes had a two-run double, Padriac Getchell had a RBI double, and Kyle Flagstad had a RBI double.

The first seven batters of the second inning reached base. Jake Casareto, Jake Kuschke, and Jordan O'Neill all had RBIs during the second.

St. Scholastica made several errors, however, to allow the Eagles back in the game. Of the eight runs Northwestern scored, only one was earned.

Jake Nystrom earned the win in relief, throwing for three innings, striking out three and giving up four hits.

The Saints (27-9) will make their ninth straight NCAA Division III Regional Tournament appearance. The full bracket will be announced Monday morning.
