Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Three St. Scholastica athletes have been named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) athletes of the week, it was announced on Tuesday.
Hibbing, Minn. native Hillary Bungarden is the UMAC women's tennis athlete of the week after helping the Saints to a 9-0 defeat of the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Bungarden won at number one singles and number one doubles in the winning effort.
James Mack, meanwhile was named the UMAC men's tennis athlete of the week after winning at number two singles and number two doubles in helping St. Scholastica to a first-ever win over St. Cloud State.
In indoor track and field, Justin Hanson was named the UMAC men's athlete of the week after setting a program-record in winning the 200-meter hurdles and also winning the 60-meter hurdles at the "Border Battle" hosted by UW-Superior.
