Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- At least four members of last season's national champion UMD men's hockey team will be participating in a NHL development camp this summer.

Recently named 2011-2012 captain Jack Connolly is headed to the camp of the Minnesota Wild while fellow returning senior Travis Oleksuk will be at the Vancouver Canucks camp.

Last year's freshman sensation J.T. Brown will skate with the Philadelphia Flyers prospects, and fellow freshman Joe Basaraba will be at the Florida Panthers camp.

Those four are still eligible to return to UMD in the fall, despite participating in the camps, but the Bulldogs did see several team members sign NHL contracts following their national championship season.

Junior winger Mike Connolly was the first to sign, going to the San Jose Sharks, followed by freshman defenseman Justin Faulk signing with the Carolina Hurricanes and graduating senior Justin Fontaine signing with the Minnesota Wild.

Former UMD Bulldog defenseman Dylan Olsen will be participating in the Chicago Blackhawks development camp this summer, after signing a pro contract midway through the 2010-2011 season.

Olsen, who was a first-round draft choice of Chicago, signed a three-year deal midway through his sophomore season, forgoing his remaining collegiate eligibility.

He played the remainder of last season with Chicago's AHL affiliate, the Rockford Ice Hogs.

Olsen will be joined at Chicago's camp by current UMD Bulldog Dan DeLisle, who was a third round pick of the Blackhawks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

DeLisle skated in 31 games for UMD this past season and racked up four goals and two assists.

Former Hermantown Hawk star Drew LeBlanc, meanwhile, will also be skating with the Chicago Blackhawks prospects this summer.

LeBlanc was a junior in the WCHA this past winter with the St. Cloud State Huskies, leading the team in goals (13), assists (26), and points (39).

Former Duluth East Greyhound Derek Forbort will skate with prospects of the L.A. Kings at the team's development camp this summer.

Forbort was a first-round choice of the Kings in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, and played his freshman college season with the North Dakota Fighting Sioux.

Fellow former Duluth East standout Andy Welinski will also be skating at a NHL development camp this summer.

Welinski was selected in the third round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Anaheim Ducks, and will skate with the team's other draft picks and prospects this summer.

Former Superior Spartan Brett Olson will also be participating in a NHL development camp this summer, that of the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins.

Olson will be a senior at Michigan Tech next season, and will again be the team's captain in 2011-2012 after serving as a captain during his junior season with the Huskies.
