Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Kurt Ramler era for St. Scholastica football started on Tuesday with what could be construed as a very cruel April Fools Day joke --- the head coach was forced to cancel practice because of a snowstorm.

Ramler and the Saints were forced inside to the weight room because of the inclement weather, that coming just one day after he was officially introduced as the program's second-ever head coach.

Even with the unfortunate setback, players have been impressed by Ramler thus far and attribute most of that to something unrelated to his football strategy.

"He's pretty upbeat. He's got a sense of humor," quarterback Tyler Harper said. "He really likes to establish that relationship, that one-on-one relationship. I kind of like that. He wants to get to know us on a personal level. He wants to know us person by person instead of just knowing us by the uniform. He wants to know us by face too."

Ramler and the Saints will now hope to get in a first spring practice on Thursday afternoon, but that is, as always, weather permitting.
