Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica football team rushed for 383 yards despite rainy and windy conditions and cruised to the win 42-6 over MacMurray College at Public Schools Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
With wind gusts around 40 miles-per-hour, the Saints stuck to their ground game. Chris Gassert led St. Scholastica with 211 yards on 18 carries to become just the fourth Saints player to rush for over 200 yards in a game. Jake Jensen racked up 146 yards and two touchdowns.
Keaton Rush led the Saints defense with 14 tackels while Alec French, who returned a fumble for a touchdown in the first quarter, added 12 tackles and a half sack.
The Saints (4-1, 4-0 UMAC) travel to the University of Northwestern next Saturday to take on the Eagles. Northwestern is the only conference team to beat the Saints in the last two-plus seasons. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
