Two Saints Earn UMAC Player of the Week Status

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- St. Scholastica track and field athletes Kevin Wagner and Nicole Christianson have each been named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) athlete of the week, it was announced on Tuesday.

Wagner is the men's honoree this week after setting a program record this past weekend by finishing with 4,473 points in the heptathlon. That record had stood at St. Scholastica the past five years and currently ranks him sixth this season in NCAA Division III.

Christianson, meanwhile, is the women's athlete of the week after breaking the a three-year-old program record this past weekend in the high jump. She cleared 5 feet, 3.75 inches to win the event, and that mark currently ranks her 15th in NCAA Division III.
