Daytona Beach, FL (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth's Dance Team has won the National Title for Division II at the National Dance Alliance Competition in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The team is the first dance team from UMD to win the school a national title. They competed against eleven other teams in their division from all over the United States. There were 300 teams total that competed in the cheer and dance competition.

The team is proud to say that they won the national title without help from a coach. The team captains step up and act as coaches.

The cost to go to nationals is nearly $25,000. That includes choreography, costumes, airfair, hotel and registration. Some funding does come UMD itself, but the team spends most of the year fundraising to be able to attend.
