UMD Ousted Early in NSIC Tournament

Sioux Falls, SD (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) softball team was ousted on the first day of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) tournament, losing games to Augustana and Upper Iowa at Sherman Park in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The Bulldogs first saw Augustana hit seven home runs, including two in the first inning, en route to a 9-7 win to send UMD to the elimination bracket.

There, Upper Iowa jumped out to a 4-0 lead and ended up with a 4-2 victory to eliminate UMD from the double-elimination conference tournament.

UMD ends the the season with an overall record of (25-21) and will say goodbye to seniors Brooke Neuroth and Megan Mullen.
