Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The UMD men's track and field team has been honored by the U.S. Track and Fueld and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as an NCAA Division II all-academic team, it was announced on Thursday.
To qualify for the national academic award, a team must possess a cumulative grade point-average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. The Bulldogs posted a collective 3.01 GPA during the 2011-12 academic year.
A total of 41 Division II institutions qualified for the honor, including five from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
