UMD Women Earn Home Court Advantage with OT Win

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The UMD women's basketball team earned home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs with a 76-70 overtime win over Winona State on Friday night.

Shelly Stemper led the Bulldogs with 23 points in the winning effort, and she was aided by the 18 points coming from Courtney Doucette.

UMD plays its final regular season game on Saturday afternoon against Upper Iowa, with that one scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start at Romano Gymansium.



The UMD men's basketball team fell 82-69 to Winona State on Friday night in front of their home fans at Romano Gymnasium.

Jake Hottenstine, Bryan Sprang, and Dan Kornbaum all scored 10 points in the losing effort.

The Bulldogs will close out the regular season on Saturday at home with a 6:00 p.m. against Upper Iowa.
