UMD Women Win WCHA Playoff Opener

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Jamie Kenyon scored two goals and the UMD women's hockey team earned a 4-3 win over Ohio State on Friday afternoon in the Western Collefgiate Hockey Association (WCHA) playoffs.

Haley Irwin and Jenna McParland scored the other goals for the Bulldogs, and Jennifer Harss made 34 saves in the winning effort.

UMD and Ohio State will play game two of the best-of-three series on Saturday afternoon at AMSOIL Arena. That game is scheduled for 3:37 p.m., and a potential game three would be Sunday at 3:07 p.m.

Natalie Spooner scored twice in the loss for the Buckeyes, marking her 30th and 31st goals of the season.
