UMD'S Lange Earns Kill No. 1500, 'Dogs Win

Pensacola, FL (NNCNOW.com) --- Senior outside hitter Kate Lange earned her 1500th career kill on Saturday night as the No. 4 University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) volleyball team beat Missouri S&T in straight sets at the West Florida Weekend Tournament.

Lange had 11 kills in match to make it 1,506 in her career, sixth on the all-time kills list at UMD. She was also named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

Joining Lange on the All-Tournament team were junior libero Julie Rainey and sophomore setter Ashley Hinsch.

The win moves the Bulldogs to 4-0 on the season. Junior outside hitter Katie Ledwell had 10 kills and Rainey added 14 digs.

The Bulldogs hit the road again next weekend to the Wisconsin Parkside tournament in Kenosha, Wis. UMD opens up against preseason No. 9 Indianapolis at 4:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
