UMD's Brykaliuk is WCHA Rookie of the Week

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) freshman forward Ashleigh Brykaliuk has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) rookie of the week, it was announced on Wednesday.

Brykaliuk scored three of the Bulldogs' seven goals this past weekend in a road sweep of Bemidji State. She scored two in the Friday night contest, including the game-winner, and then added another in the Saturday afternoon game.

The freshman has played in all 28 games this season for the Bulldogs, and she is currently tied for second on the team with 10 goals and ranks fifth with 18 total points.
