UMD's Connolly Named Premier Player of the Year

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- UMD senior captain Jack Connolly was named Tuesday as the 2012 Premier Player in men's college hockey, that according to fan voting conducted by the Premier Players Sports Foundation.

The title of premier player is presented to the athlete fans voted as the best in his or her individual sport. A formal presentation of the trophy will happen in late April at the UMass Club in Boston.

The Duluth native was also named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association player of the year this season and is one of three remaining finalists for the 2012 Hobey Baker Award.

He finishes his four-year Bulldogs career with 197 points in 166 games played, having never missed a contest during his time with UMD.
