Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- UMD freshman winger Caleb Herbert has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Rookie of the Week for his efforts in the Bulldogs weekend sweep of Minnesota State-Mankato.

Herbert tallied two goals and an assist in the Friday night win, then added another goal as UMD completed the sweep on Saturday.

The Bulldogs freshman holds second place in the WCHA rookie scoring streak with six goals and eight assists to his name, and has been a key part of UMD's current 10-game unbeaten streak.
