Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) defenseman Brigette Lacquette has been named to Canada's women's under-22 development team, it was announced on Sunday.
Lacquette and her Canadian teammates will play a three-game series against the United States under-22 select team from August 16-19 in Calgary, Alberta.
The UMD defenseman is entering her sophomore season with the Bulldogs this winter, that after totaling five goals and 15 assists during her freshman campaign in the 2011-12 season.
Lacquette was named last season to the all-Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) rookie team, and she and the Bulldogs will open up play in the 2012-13 season on September 28 with an exhibition game against the Minnesota Whitecaps.
