UMD's Lange Named Region's Player of the Year

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Hibbing, Minn. native and University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) senior outside hitter Kate Lange has been named the 2013 Daktronics Division II Central Region player of the year, it was announced on Tuesday.

Lange, UMD's all-time career kills leader, leads the nation this season at the Division II level averaging 5.40 kills per set while also adding 2.94 digs per set for the Bulldogs.

The senior will now be on the ballot for the Daktronics national player of the year award, and she was also named to the all-Central Region first team.

UMD is (31-2) this season and will be hosting the NCAA Division II Central Region tournament, with the Bulldogs' first match scheduled for Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. against Arkansas Tech.
