Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) volleyball players Kate Lange and Julie Rainey have been named to the Daktronics All-Central Region team, which was announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Lange, a native of Hibbing, Minn., is the 2012 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) player of the year and currently ranks second in the nation at Division II with 4.93 kills per set.

The former Hibbing Bluejackets star became earlier this season the 16th Bulldogs player ever to record 1,000 career kills, keeping her on pace to break the all-time program record in her senior season.

Rainey, meanwhile, has recorded a team-high 516 digs in the 2012 season. Both she and Lange were also named All-Region performers this season by the American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA).
