Pueblo, CO (Northland's NewsCenter) --- UMD senior distance runner Morgan Place wrapped up a very prolific career on Thursday night, finishing in 12th place of the 10,000-meter run at the Division II NCAA outdoor track and field championships.
Place finished the race in 37:26.31, falling four places short an eighth place finish that would have earned her a school-record sixth All-American track and field honor.
The UMD senior was competing in her seventh track and field NCAA championship, that to go along with four NCAA championship appearances in cross country.
Her teammate, Lexi Williams, is competing Friday afternoon in the 800-meter run, marking her debut in the NCAA championships.
