Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) junior libero Julie Rainey has been named to the 2013 Daktronics Division II all-Central Region second team, it was announced on Tuesday.

Rainey set the all-time career digs record for the Bulldogs earlier this season and is averaging a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC)-best 5.69 digs per set, with that number putting her 13th in the nation at the Division II level.

This marks the second time in the past two years that Rainey has earned second team honors on the Daktronics all-region squad.

UMD is (31-2) this season and will be hosting the NCAA Division II Central Region tournament, with the Bulldogs' first match scheduled for Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. against Arkansas Tech.
