Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) sophomore wide receiver has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) special teams player of the week, it was announced on Monday.

Roth returned a first half kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown this past Saturday in the Bulldogs' 42-34 home win over Augustana.

The sophomore also had a kickoff return for a touchdown in UMD's home win against Winona State, making him the first Bulldogs in 12 years to bring back two kicks for scores in a single season.

Roth is averaging 39.0 yards per kickoff return this season, a mark that ranks him second in the nation at Division II.
