Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) senior Mike Seidel and freshman Austin Farley have each been honored by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Seidel was named the WCHA co-offensive player of the week after finishing with two goals and three assists in the Bulldogs' two-game home sweep of Nebraska-Omaha, marking the senior's last-ever games at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minn.
Putting 13 shots on goal across the two games, Seidel was also a key part of the UMD power play that went 7-for-12 on the weekend and set a program single-game record with five goals on Saturday.
Farley, meanwhile, was named the WCHA rookie of the week after contributing two goals and four assists to UMD's sweep this past weekend.
This marks the second time the Bulldogs freshman Farley has earned rookie of the week honors, and he also is the only WCHA freshman player to garner player of the week honors this season.
