Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) assistant men's basketball coach Kevin Williamson was not selected as the next head coach of the University of Minnesota Crookston men's basketball program, it was confirmed to NNCNOW.com on Tuesday afternoon.

Williamson was one of three finalists for the vacant job, but the school on Tuesday named MSU-Moorhead assistant coach Dan Weisse as the next head coach for the Dragons.

Williamson has been with the Bulldogs under head coach Matt Bowen the past two seasons, helping UMD to a (20-34) overall record in that time.

Before coming to UMD, Williamson spent two seasons working under Bowen at Bemidji State and was part of that program's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) championship in the 2011-12 season.
