Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- UW-Superior soccer players Chase Carey and Brian Grand recently returned from Brazil --- the same country in which the FIFA World Cup is currently being held --- and playing with the United States as part of the 2014 Brazilian Tour.

"It was the trip of a lifetime. I loved seeing the country and meeting the people there," Grand said. "The biggest thing that stood out to me was how happy everyone was. We met many people who didn't have much. They didn't have the facilities or equipment that we have here, but they had a soccer ball, so they were happy."

The pair was selected to be part of the team along with other NCAA Division III players from across the country, with the trip organized by USA Sports Tours and Events.

The United States went (3-1) overall on the trip, with Carey totaling two goals and two assists and Grand adding a goal and an assist for the Americans.

In addition to soccer matches, the tour also included educational, social, and cultural outreach opportunities within the communities, and athletes were also able to visit schools and historical sites around Brazil.
