Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- UW-Superior junior guard Sally Linzmeier has been selected as a preseason All-American by Women's DIII News, a national publication dedicated to NCAA Division III women's basketball.

Linzmeier led the Yellowjackets last season by averaging 16.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.4 steals per contest en route to be named to the all-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) first team.

"I obviously have a very heavy bias, but in my opinion she was one of the top players, not just in our conference but in the nation last year as a sophomore and is only getting better," head coach Don Mulhern said. "She attacks the game with so much ferocity, both on offense and defense, in practice and in games. Nobody works harder and there is no doubt in my mind that she deserves this honor and any others that come her way."

Linzmeier right now is on pace to break the program record for career steals, and she's also expected to finish her career in the top 15 of points scored and rebounds.
