UWS Men, Women Down Saints in Bridge Battle

Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The UW-Superior men's and women's basketball teams downed the St. Scholastica Saints on Saturday night in the annual basketball bridge battle.

The men beat the Saints 85-68 behind a game-high 23 points from Ben Aalfs and 17 from Adam Hjelter.

Brett Tester led St. Scholastica with 23 points in the game.

The women, meanwhile, downed the Saints 82-68 behind the game high 17 points of Sally Linzmeier, who also added 10 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

Hermantown native Bri Davis played her first game with the Yellowjackets in more than a month, scoring 11 points and grabbing five rebounds.

Mariah Hovick led the Saints with 16 points while former Superior Spartan Laura Amys had 10 in the losing effort.
