UWS women's hockey drops opener

In women's college hockey on Friday night, UWS opened the season, with a 3-1 defeat to Conconrdia-Moorhead.

Concordia scored the first two goals of the game in the third period and never looked back. The game was played at Wessman Arena, was the first of a five-game homestand.

Alison Shrift scored the lone goal for the Yellowjackets. Shanley Peters made 14 saves for UWS in the defeat.

The series wraps up with a Saturday afternoon battle, beginning at 2pm.
