Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women's hockey junior Tea Villila and freshman Lara Stalder along with St. Scholastica junior Nina Waidacher flew out on Wednesday morning to join their teams before playing in the Sochi Games.
Villila will skate for Team Finland in next month's tournament while Stalder and Waidacher will play for Team Switzerland.
"I'm really excited. It's a little girl's dream to go to the Olympics and now it's becoming true so I'm really excited," said Stalder.
Waidacher will be the Saints first ever Olympian, and she gives credit to CSS for helping her make the team.
"This is a huge program here, and we practice every day not just on the ice but also off the ice," Waidacher said. "Back home, it would be harder with work and education because it's different, so that's been big."
