Vogler Returns as Volunteer Coach for UMD

October 15, 2013 Updated Oct 15, 2013 at 9:10 PM CDT

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Former University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) quarterback Chase Vogler is once again a member of the Bulldogs --- this time as a volunteer assistant coach.

Vogler returned to UMD on Tuesday afternoon after spending the past four months playing semi-professional football in Germany for the Bielefeld Bulldogs.

The former quarterback will work primarily with the defensive secondary for the Bulldogs, a team that still has five regular season games left in 2013.

Vogler played at UMD from 2009-2012 and amassed a record of (46-6) as a starting quarterback, most notably leading the team to the 2010 NCAA Division II championship.

His 2,903 rushing yards are still the most in program history for a quarterback, and his 10,486 total yards of offense ranks second among all players in the UMD history books.
