Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- St. Scholastica women's hockey standouts Monika and Nina Waidacher will skate for Switzerland in the upcoming 2012 IIHF Women's Hockey World Championships.

Both played for the Swiss national team in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, helping that squad to a fifth place finish.

The Waidacher sisters were both named to the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) all-conference first team this season, that finishing first and second in conference points.

Nina also became the program's first-ever NCAA All-American after leading the NCHA with 18 goals and 18 assists in the 2011-12 season.

The IIHF Women's Hockey World Championships begin on April 7, with the gold medal game set for April 14 in Burlington, VT.
