January 5, 2012 Updated Jan 5, 2012 at 5:48 PM CDT

Madison, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Wisconsin running back and Heisman Trophy finalist Montee Ball announced Thursday he will return to the Badgers for his senior season.

Ball, also the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, said the NFL draft advisory board labeled him a third-round pick, which left him "very disappointed."

The Badgers back tied Barry Sanders' NCAA record for single-season touchdowns this year with 39 and also led the nation with 1,923 rushing yards.

His 2,229 all-purpose yards this season ranks second in Wisconsin team history behind former Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne.
