Yellowjackets Blanked by Visiting Pointers

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The UW-Superior women's soccer team couldn't break through the defense of UW-Stevens Point on Saturday afternoon, losing 6-0 to the Pointers at Public Schools Stadium in Duluth.

UW-Stevens Point senior captain Angela Gallow registered a hat trick for the visitors, while UW-Superior sohomore goalkeeper Alexandra Paige finished with seven saves in the losing effort.

The game acted as senior day for the Yellowjackets, with the team recognizing before the game its two senior players in Mallory Engen and Cloquet native Sarah Johnson.

With the loss, UW-Superior falls to (2-7) so far this 2012 season.
